The Village of Dousman encourages backyard composting of yard waste and recycling of grass clippings.

Yard waste includes leaves, yard and garden debris and brush including clean woody vegetative material no greater than 6″ in diameter.  No stumps, roots, shrubs with intact root balls or grass clippings will be accepted.  Garden debris and leaves must be in paper bags or re-usable containers.  No plastic bags will be collected.  Paper lawn bags can be obtained at any hardware store.  Brush must be cut in lengths not to exceed 4-feet, bundled and placed at the curbside.  The cut end must face the curb.  If these requirements are not met, your yard waste will not be collected.
